Freya Barnes, Emily Cook, Hollie Gilchrist, and Ellen Ramage-Jones won of the junior science category of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition 2019, for their project Naturally Infused. The students have created a range of natural bath and skincare products that are not only kind to skin (Emily has eczema and Freya’s grandfather suffers with psoriasis) but also kind to the environment. They use special plant extracts like tiger grass, which has healing properties and avoid including anything harmful. They also want to be kind to the environment so don’t use any palm oil and don’t use any plastic packaging. They reached the UK finals of The Competition having won a place in the North West heats.
